MUSCAT: Windorex + Glass & Aluminium Oman 2017, the Sultanate’s definitive trade expo spotlighting the burgeoning fenestrations and facades segment of the construction industry, opens at the Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre (OCEC) on May 15, 2017. The three-day event, which runs from May 15-17, 2017, will be formally inaugurated by Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service. The Chief Guest will be joined by dignitaries and private sector executives representing a number of government departments, trade bodies and corporate organisations that have a stake in the continued success of Oman’s nascent building envelopes sector.
Organised by well-known Omani event management firm Global Exhibitions & Conferences LLC (GEC), this year’s event seeks to build on the overwhelming success of the show’s maiden edition that was held a year ago. That event galvanised the Sultanate’s fledgling fenestrations and facades industry around a first-of-its-kind platform which experts believe has the potential to provide strong impetus for its growth, going forward.
Significantly, more than 100 leading brands hailing from 20+ different countries will showcase their products, technologies and services associated with the manufacture of windows, doors, glass and aluminium, facades, sun protection systems and other related products. Omani SMEs in particular are expected to be better placed to capitalise on the wealth of opportunities for networking, joint venture partnerships, trade representations and B2B deals arising out of the 3-day event.
