Oman Air said its flight WY 337, a Boeing 737-800 flying from Muscat to Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport returned safely to base after the aircraft had initially taken off from Muscat International Airport. The flight took off from Muscat at 6:13 am local time with 137 passengers and six crew members on board. The aircraft returned to its home base after experiencing a technical snag on takeoff. The passengers and crew disembarked smoothly without any incident. All passengers were accommodated on an alternative aircraft with the same flight number that took off at 3 pm from Muscat. The airline said its over-riding priority is to the safety and well-being of all its passengers and staff, and the airline is proud of its unblemished safety record. The airline also works closely with all the airport authorities throughout its network. This incident further illustrates the effectiveness of the excellent training of their crew and cooperation with the airport authorities.
