Tanushree Shankar dance troupe to perform in Oman

MUSCAT: Indian Embassy in Muscat has been organising a series of cultural, economic and community events as part of celebration of 70 years of India’s independence, including, dance and music performances, essay and quiz competitions, exhibition of paintings, seminars and workshops with a view to highlight the journey of India as a nation since it independence in 1947.


After the visit of the Kathak dance troupe, led by Dinesh Poddar, in August 2017, which gave enthralling performances in Muscat, Suhar, Nizwa and Salalah, Oman will be treated with scintillating Indian contemporary dance performances by the dance troupe led by Guru Tanushree Shankar. Both the groups have been sponsored by the Indian Ministry of Culture to visit Oman to celebrate India’s independence day.


The Indian contemporary dance troupe, led by Guru Tanushree Shankar, will be visiting Oman from November 8-15. The group will perform at the Indian Embassy Lawns on November 9. It will also give performances at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Suhar, on November 10; Sur Royal Hall, Sur, on November 12; and at Indian Social Club in Salalah on November 14. Dancer and choreographer, Guru Tanushree Shankar, is the Artistic Director of Tanushree Shankar dance troupe in Kolkata.
