Tanfeedh questionnaire gets positive response

MUSCAT: Outcomes of the community involvement survey about Tanfeedh Program were positive. The turn out by individuals on taking part in the questionnaire has been high. The questionnaire, which was held during November 28th to 30th 2016 at Oman International Exhibition Centre targeted 1,000 participants. Due to the beyond expectation turn out, the number of participants was 2,557. The statistics associated with the community involvement days for ‘Tanfeedh’ estimated the number of attendees to be more than 8,000, representing different categories of society, sectors and age groups.


Omanis who participated in the questionnaire represented 81 per cent of the respondents compared to 19 per cent from Arab and non-Arab nationalities. Individuals of the age group between 19-29 constituted 36 per cent of participants compared to 44 per cent for the age group between 30-40 years. The participants provided a number of proposals that were classified into legal and procedural recommendations. The participants recommended simplification of procedures and upgrading of laws and regulations. Some recommendations also covered investment, manufacturing industries and logistic services. The respondents to the questionnaire pointed out that education should be one of the focus areas in the coming period.


As for the labs outputs and the possibility they may enhance the Sultanate’s competitiveness in the social and economic indicators, 92.6 per cent pointed out that the outputs may achieve this. 96.4 per cent believed that the performance assessment indicators may help public organisations in achieving their prospective aims and objectives. 92.6 per cent affirmed that streamlining the efforts will enhance the performance of public and private sectors.


Meanwhile, the Supervising Committee for the Labour Market and Employment Lab on Monday held a meeting under the chairmanship of Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser al Bakri, Minister of Manpower. The meeting aims to follow up implementation of outputs within the context of the National Programme for Enhancing Economic Diversification (Tanfeedh).
