Supreme Council for Planning reviews initiatives

MUSCAT: The steering committee at the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Planning on Monday held a meeting under the chairmanship of Talal bin Sulaiman al Rahbi, Deputy, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Planning.


The meeting reviewed the progress of work at the implementation of three initiatives supervised by the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council for Planning. The initiatives are the output of the national economic diversification programme ‘Tanfeedh’.


The first initiative is on classification of the projects executed in partnership with the private sector; the second initiative is on building the capabilities of the government institutions in terms of classification of projects and the third initiative


is on establishment of two government institutions for management of government projects.

The committee and the support team of the implementation and follow up support unit reviewed the percentage of completion at the initiatives in general. There has been also a briefing on the works and outputs of the work teams that have been formed to follow up the implementation of these initiatives. The meeting reviewed as well the challenges and the proposed recommendations that can achieve the targets.


During the meeting, the support team of the implementation and follow up support unit gave an overview about the key indicators and the targeted outcomes in 2018 with special focus on revising the methodologies of the work team to ensure achieving the goals as per the planned timetables.
