Sunaidy, Futaisi hold talks with Slovak Deputy Prime Minister

MUSCAT: Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, received in his office on Monday Peter Pellegrini, Deputy Prime Minister for Investment in the Slovak Republic and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting the Sultanate.


The meeting discussed aspects of the joint cooperation between the Sultanate and the Slovak Republic, besides discussing several fields, such as food industry, car parts, information technology and medical centres.


The two sides agreed on developing relations in the industrial and commercial areas, as well as the knowledge-based industry, in addition to exchanging expertise and delegations between the two countries to enhance these relations.


Meanwhile, Dr Ahmed bin Mohammed al Futaisi, Minister of Transport and Communications, also received in his office Peter Pellegrini and his accompanying delegation, who is currently visiting the Sultanate.


The meeting reviewed fields of cooperation relating to transport and communications sectors, besides reviewing matters of common concern to the two friendly countries.


Dr Al Futaisi briefed the Slovak guest on the major strategic projects being implemented by the Sultanate’s government within the current five-year plan and the future plans, such as airports, railways, ports and logistic services. The meeting was attended by Salim bin Mohammed al Nuaimi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for Transport, Eng Abdulrahman bin Salim al Hatmi, CEO of the Oman Global Logistics Group ‘ASYAD’, and a number of officials from the Ministry of Transport and Communications. — ONA
