Sultanate participates at World Government Summit in UAE

DUBAI:The Sultanate took part on Sunday in the 6th session of the World Government Summit, which was inaugurated in Dubai, UAE, under the auspices of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The Sultanate’s delegation is led by Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Minister of Civil Service. The summit is an annual event held in Dubai. It brings together leaders in government for a global dialogue about governmental process and policies with a focus on the issues of technology and innovation, as well as other topics.


The summit acts as a knowledge exchange hub between government officials, thought leaders, policy makers and private sector leaders, and as an analysis platform for the future trends, issues and opportunities facing humanity. The summit hosts over 130 speakers from 140 participating countries along with over 4,000 attendees. The delegation accompanied Shaikh al Marhoon comprised Abdulmalik bin Abdullah al Hinai, Adviser of the Finance Ministry, Dr Hilal bin Ali al Hinai, Secretary-General of The Research Council, Saud bin Salim al Balushi, Under-Secretary of the Education Ministry for Educational Planning and Human Resources Development, Sayyid Salim bin Musallim al Busaidy, Under-Secretary of the Civil Service Ministry for Administrative Development Affairs, Talal bin Sulieman al Rahbi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Planning, Dr Khalid bin Said al Jaradi, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the UAE, Dr Salim bin Sultan al Ruzaiqi, CEO of the Information Technology Authority and government officials in the Sultanate. — ONA
