Sultanate guest of honour in International Maritime Expo

Muscat: The Sultanate, represented by the Ministry of Tourism, will participate in the International Maritime Exhibition (Grand Pavois, International In-Water Boat Show) in the French city of La Rochelle from September 27 to October 2.


The organiser of the event, which is ranked among the top five annual international exhibitions in boating, sailing and water sports, invited the Sultanate for the first time at the Middle East to be the guest of honour for this year’s International Maritime Exhibition held at the port of (Port des Minimes) in La Rochelle on the French West Coast overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.


The International Maritime Exhibition is a major platform in the marine tourism sector to promote the latest developments in the world of leisure navigation.


Spread over 100,000 square metres, Port des Minimes attracts more than 800 exhibitors from more than 30 countries around the world. Around 90,000 visitors from different countries of the world visit the exhibition.


The exhibition provides participants with good and quality commercial and marketing opportunities, allowing organisations and institutions involved in marine and recreational activities and services to present their products of modern and classic yachts and boats.


The organisers of the International Maritime Exhibition in La Rochelle has allotted 700 square metres to the Omani Ministry of Tourism to build the largest pavilion at the World Expo.
