MUSCAT: Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdallah, Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, hold a session of talks at the ministry on Monday with Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt. During the session, they discussed aspects of the bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries and means of enhancing them in various areas. They also exchanged viewpoints on a number of regional and international issues of common concern.


The talks session was attended by members of the delegation accompanying the guest and a number of officials at the Foreign Ministry.


Egyptian minister also praised the wise policy of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos in supporting and enhancing peace and stability efforts at the Arab and international levels. “The Omani Egyptian relations are historic and have been characterised by having similar views and taking identical policies that contribute to enhancing Arab stability and solidarity. The two countries work together to serve the interests of both brotherly peoples”, he said.


“The talks session that was held today with Bin Alawi touched on the bilateral relations and the common desire to develop these relations and activate the legal frameworks in a way that lead to enhancing bilateral trade and investment. The session also covered the Arab conditions and challenges related to the situations in Syria, Yemen, Iraq and fighting terrorism,” he added. “The challenges facing the Arab countries mandate us to join hands to address them by enhancing the shared vision and Arab Solidarity,” he furthered. — ONA
