MUSCAT: The Sultanate on Tuesday celebrated the first day of Eid al Adha. His Highness Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmood al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers, performed Eid al Adha prayers at Al Khour Mosque in Muscat in the morning. HH Sayyid Fahd was accompanied during the prayers by their highnesses, ministers, under-secretaries, advisers and prominent figures.

Shaikh Dr Is’haq bin Ahmed al Busaidy, Chairman of the Supreme Court, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Judiciary Council, led the Eid prayer.

Shaikh Dr Is’haq started the Khutba (sermon) with Takbir (exclaiming Allah is Great) and “blessings and peace be upon his Prophet”. The sermon called on the Ummah to adhere to the values of ethics and to be one nation that meets on righteousness, honesty and goodness. He said in his sermon that peoples and nations do not vary in strength, weakness, progress or failure, but vary in morals, virtues and values.

He pointed out that the forgotten nations were not wiped out or exterminated, but were hit in their morals and thus disappeared as they lacked the foundation.

He added that Allah the Almighty sent His messengers advocating ethics and at the end of whom is our Prophet (PBUH). He added that Allah wanted this nation to be at the head of nations in the doctrine, behaviour, virtues and ethics and therefore must maintain the revelation of Allah the Almighty, advocated by the Prophet (PBUH).

Shaikh Dr Is’haq affirmed that the nation must prepare the means, the most important of which is to educate the youngsters on virtues and uprightness in religion and to follow the footsteps of the Prophet (PBUH).
