Suhar clinches U-21 football league title

MUSCAT, May 5 - Suhar was crowned the champion of U-21 football league after beating Al Shabab 2-1 at the Nizwa Sports Complex late on Friday. Oman Club clinched the third place as they defeated Al Wahda 3-2 in penalty shoot-out in the third place match after the match ended in a 2-2 draw. Al Qassem al Abdulsalam and Saud al Maqbali (from penalty) scored for Suhar, while Ali al Siyabi netted for Al Shabab in the summit clash. Hamed Hamdan al Mamri, board member of Oman Football Association, was the chief guest and gave away the awards to the Suhar and Al Shabab players and handed over individual awards.


Also present on the occasion were board members of OFA and officials from both teams. The Suhar U-18 team had recently lifted the Oman Football Association (OFA) U-18 league title beating Al Suwaiq 5-4 in a penalty shootout after the game ended in a goalless draw at regulation time. Also, Suhar is a runner up of the HM Cup after they lost against Al Nasr in the final match.
