Sudan hails Oman’s role in advancing peace, security

KHARTOUM: Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed al Bashir received Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, State Council Chairman, and his accompanying delegation as part of his official visit to Sudan.


During the meeting, the State Council Chairman conveyed the greetings of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos to President Omar al Bashir.


The Sudanese President conveyed sincere greetings to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.


He expressed his country’s appreciation for the great role played by His Majesty in advancing the nation’s issues and in promoting security and peace in the region and the world.


During the meeting, cooperation between the Sultanate and Sudan was discussed, including the ways to develop relations in all fields.


The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of the Sultanate to Sudan and a number of Sudanese officials.


Earlier, Dr Al Mantheri and his accompanying delegation visited Zad International Investment


Company and Giad Industrial Group, where they were briefed on the work and activities of the company and the group.


The State Council Chairman and his accompanying delegation concluded their official visit on Thursday.


The delegation comprises of members of the Council, including Shaikh Dr Al Khattab bin Ghalib al Hinai, State Council Vice-Chairman, Khalid bin Salem al Saidi, Secretary-General of the Council, Muna bint Abdullah al Bahrani, Said bin Nasser al Maskari, Rayya bint Salim al Mantheri, Shaikh Khalid bin Saif al Ghafri, Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed al Shamsi, Said bin Ali al Kalbani and Ahmed Al Siddiq Ahmed Abdul Hai, Ambassador of Sudan to the Sultanate.


Dr Omar Suleiman Waneis, President of the Council of States of the Republic of Sudan, and Dr Sulaiman bin Saud al Jabri, Sultanate’s Ambassador to the Republic of Sudan, were present at the Khartoum International Airport to see off the Omani delegation.
