MUSCAT: The Legal Committee of the State Council at its third meeting on Tuesday, headed by Abdul Qadir bin Salim al Dhahab, Head of the Committee, discussed the topics that will feature for discussions during the second annual session of the sixth session.
The Committee was briefed regarding the explanatory memorandum prepared by the Committee on the proposed draft rules of procedure of the State Council.
The Committee also reviewed the follow-up report on the implementation of the resolutions adopted at its previous meeting, the developments relating to its agenda and the adoption of appropriate resolutions. The Culture, Information and Tourism Committee of the State Council concluded its study titled “the reality of public and private libraries and their societal role”.
The committee meeting was headed by Dr Ahmed bin Ali al Meshaqi, Chairman of the Committee.
The Economic Committee of the State Council on Tuesday hosted CEO of Al Madina Logistics Company, CEO of Oman Integrated Logistics Company, CEO of Oman International Logistics Group and a number of specialists of the Economic Zone in Duqm. The Chairman of the Committee, Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Harthy, headed the meeting.
The Chairman of the Committee, Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah al Harthy, headed the meeting which discussed the role of current legislations which contribute to activating the work of the free economic zones and the most important challenges and obstacles facing the economic zones.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of economic zones contributing to increasing the GDP of the Sultanate, its ability to identify more direct and indirect job opportunities.
