State Council Chairman holds talks with NDC delegation

MUSCAT: Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council received at the council’s HQs on Sunday a delegation from the National Defence College (NDC). Dr Al Mantheri stressed the council’s keenness in extending bridges of cooperation with the society and activating partnership through various channels, including lectures and seminars, as well as organising visits for official military and civil delegations to the council. Maj Gen Salim bin Musallam Qatan, NDC Commandant, said that the visit aimed at familiarising the delegation with the nature of work in the council, its tasks and prerogatives.


He valued the important role of Majlis Oman in general and the State Council in particular in conducting studies, which assist in implementing the development plans and programmes, besides finding appropriate solutions for the economic and social obstacles and presenting studies and suggestions to serve the community and achieving goals of the state.


The visiting delegation watched a presentation on Majlis Oman, its importance and the progress of Shura march in the Sultanate in light of the attention accorded by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos in developing the Shura march and enhancing it to keep pace with aspirations of the Sultanate’s people in each developmental stage of the blessed Renaissance stages. The NDC delegation also toured various utilities of the Council. The meeting was attended by Dr Shaikh Al Khattab bin Ghalib al Hinai, Deputy Chairman of the State Council and other members. — ONA
