Bordeaux: The Sail Training Association Latvia (STA-Latvia) won the 7th Sultan Qaboos Award for Sailing. The award was presented to STA-Latvia by Shaikh Dr Ghazi bin Said al Rawas, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to France, in the presence of Staff Commodore Said bin Abdullah al Saadi, Senior Staff Officer at RNO, Commodore Salim bin Nasser al Qasmi, Military attaché at the Sultanate’s Embassy in France, officials, heads of sailing associations and shipmasters. STA-Latvia won the award for its achievements in training sailing skills to young volunteers especially those with special needs and also for winning nine international tall ships’ races.
