Special Task Force HQ at Seeb opened

MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) on Wednesday celebrated the opening of the Special Task Force (STF) headquarters in the Wilayat of Al Seeb and graduation of a new batch of police recruits. The ceremony was presided over by  Sayyid Khalid bin Hilal al Busaidi, Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court in the presence of Lt Gen. Hassan bin Mohsin bin Salim al Shraiqi, Inspector-General of Police and Customs, officials, advisers, commanders of the Sultan’s Armed Forces corps. The ROP Music Band performed the national anthem after which the parade commander came forward asking the chief guest permission to start the graduation ceremony following which the graduates started to march in slow motion before the dais. The graduates chanted the ROP anthem (protectors of rights) and took the oath of allegiance and loyalty.


Following performance of the military salute to the Chief Guest the parade commander asked for his permission to leave the parade ground marking the end of the graduation ceremony. The Discipline Group at the ROP STF Command and ROP Cavalry Unit staged a performance. After that the Minister of the Diwan of Royal Court unveiled the commemorative plaque for the building. At the end of the ceremony, the Chief Guest then distributed the prizes to the excelling graduates. It should be noted that the STF HQ comprises a security centre that is provided with 24/24 control room, a hall equipped with modern technologies, a meeting auditorium, modern offices, multi-use sports hall for training on self-defence and other skills. The building has also a primary health clinic, a mosque, housing units for officers and personnel.— ONA
