Sohar Aluminium has confirmed that it has re-energised the potline, which was the subject of an incident occurring at the plant on August 4.
Consequently, the process of restarting the pots and the production of aluminium began on Friday, September 15, 2017, a top official said.
“The company is still working closely with a team of industry experts to progressively return to full production levels as early as possible.
The company wishes to thank all its employees for the positive progress and this major milestone towards a quick return to full production while keeping safety as a primary focus,” said Said al Masoudi, the Chief Executive Officer of Sohar Aluminium.
As hosts of the 21st edition of the Arab International Aluminium Conference (ARABAL), Sohar Aluminium will also be taking the conference delegates on an exclusive site visit to its plant and facilities, to showcase its production capabilities in the most transparent way.
“Sohar Aluminium remains committed to demonstrating excellence and efficiency in its operations and is accountable to its entire stakeholder community,” Al Masoudi added.
