Shihab finishes second in F4 tourney

MUSCAT, feb 4 - Oman’s young star in Formula 4, racer Shihab bin Ahmed al Habsi claimed second position at the second round of United Arab Emirates (UAE) Formula 4 tournament at Yas marina circuit in Abu Dhabi.
Shihab made a confident entry to the event but had to struggle to get good practice and train at the circuit due to technical issues in his vehicle. The 15-year-old managed to finish in the second position in the final round of the race.
The UAE F4 tournament comprises five rounds and points are recorded through the accumulative system from all the rounds.
As many as 15 racers took part in the first round representing different countries including Italy, Spain, UK and other countries.
The participation of the talented Omani boy at this racing event is part of his preparation to take part at the Europe F4 Championship which is to be held by the end of April.
“It is a great moment to achieve this advanced position in this race. I am very pleased to raise the Oman flag in international tournaments and championships. I will continue working hard at my training sessions in the upcoming days to prepare well for future races and rounds.” Shihab al Habsi said.
Oman’s ace in F4 racing affirmed that he is planning for a better achievement in 2019 and looking forward for better support and cooperation from all. Al Habsi raised his message to private sector for having sponsorship and affirmed that will help him to train and exercise better before kick off the races.
