Muscat, JAN 1 -
The Special Economic Zone Authority at Duqm (SEZAD) yesterday signed a contract with Premier International Projects LLC (PIPOMAN) for the construction of a service road in the Aman District of the SEZ at a cost of RO 3.8 million.
Yahya bin Said al Jabri, Chairman — SEZAD, signed the agreement on behalf of the Authority.
The 8.3 km carriageway will link SEZAD’s new headquarters in Duqm with the facilities of the Royal Oman Police (ROP), as well as connect with the main Sultan Qaboos Road leading to Duqm Airport and Port of Duqm.
A total of four roundabouts will be built along the stretch, while the contract also calls for the construction of drainage systems and an LED street lighting system.
The implementation of the project comes within SEZAD ad hoc action plan established particularly for completion of the road projects in the region and to keep it ready for investments in an attempt to facilitate the movement of the investors, citizens and residents across the various locations of the region.
