Muscat; The Ministry of Manpower (MoM) on Tuesday issued a statement on the closure of Salan Foodstuff Factory in Suhar, which has affected the lives of around 170 Omanis and several expatriate workers.

The ministry said that a meeting was held at the headquarters of  Directorate General of Manpower in North Batinah with the factory management and the General Federation of Trade Union (GFOTU) to discuss the factory closure as a result of financial losses.

The ministry said that the company shut down will result in the returning of expatriate workers, offering employment opportunities for Omanis in the coming days.
