The Indian School Bausher is the seventh Indian School to come up in the capital area and the 21st in the Sultanate.
The board of directors of Indian Schools in Oman held a formal ceremony, marking handover of the school.
It can accommodate 3,600 students, said official sources.
The school, under the leadership of Principal Rakesh Singh Tomar, an academician with decades of experience, is ready to take off from beginning of the forthcoming academic year.
The school will initially accommodate children for kindergarten to Class VII, adding more senior classes in the subsequent years.
The school is equipped with a swimming and splash pool, health and wellness centre, synthetic athletic track, cycling track, football ground, basketball court, cricket pitch and kabaddi play area.
Fatma Noorani, Director General of Private Schools, Ministry of Education, presided over the ceremony.
Siddiqa Abdul Majeed al Lawatiya, Director of International Schools, Ministry of Education; and Rakesh Adlekha, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, were guests of honour.
Khaled Hamad al Ghazzali, General Manager (Investment) of Al Omaniya Al Nahdha, handed over a miniature replica of the school building to the board of directors.
