SCT hosts 3rd CISCO NetRiders student skills competition

SALALAH: Cisco NetRiders offers a fun, educational challenge for students to compete with their peers in a real-time environment that showcases their IT/ networking skills. In addition, NetRiders helps to identify top talent for potential employment opportunities. For Instructors, NetRiders is a great opportunity to provide students with opportunities to develop and demonstrate their leadership outside the traditional classroom curriculum.


For the third time, Salalah College of Technology (SCT) hosted the Regional Round 1 event in the Dhofar Governorate under the supervision of Jonathan Peter Glycer R Tambaoan, Cisco-Oman Instructor Trainer and Head of Section for Network, Internet and E-Security — IT Department with the support of Viji Paul, Head of Information Technology Department. The event was coordinated by Dr R Venkateswaran, Faculty, Information Security of IT department.


The competition has three categories for qualified Cisco Students to register and participate namely IT Essentials, CCENT.


Five students participated in the third Cisco NetRiders Student Skills Competition (Middle East countries) in the Dhofar Governorate at the IT Building of SCT.


Top winners will have a Study Trip Prize to Cisco Systems, USA and will be given an exam voucher for Cisco Industry Certification.
