School security conference begins

MUSCAT: The conference on “School Security and Safety” started on Tuesday under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Saayed al Kalbani, Minister of Social Development at the ministry’s theatre in Al Wattiyah. The conference was organised by the Ministry of Education represented by the Directorate General of Private Schools. The Minister of Social Development said that the private schools currently have a large presence and that attention to the safety and security in private schools has become an urgent need, especially after the issuance of the Child Law. The activities of the conference began with the presentation of a number of working papers, including “The Concept of Cyber Security and Safety of Information in Educational Institutions”, “Drugs and its Impact on School Students: Legal Perspective”, “Bullying Phenomenon among School Students”, “Child law and Application Mechanism” and safety Requirement in Furnishing Science labs”. — ONA
