Sayyid Badr meets Begian, EU officials

BRUSSELS: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood al Busaidy, Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry, on Saturday met with Christine Defraigne, President of the Belgian Senate, as part of his current visit to the Kingdom of Belgium.


They two sides discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and the importance of fostering them in various fields to achieve common interests and boost partnership between the two countries.


They also reviewed points of view regarding matters of common concern between the two countries.

Sayyid Badr also met with Helga Schmid, Secretary-General of European External Action Service (EEAS) of the European Union (EU).


The meeting discussed aspects of common cooperation between the Sultanate and the European Union and ways of fostering them particularly within the framework of the Sultanate’s development and diversification plans in addition to discussing a number of regional and international issues.


The meeting was attended by Nujaim bin Sulaiman al Abri, the Sultanate’s Ambassador to Belgium, and head of the diplomatic mission to the European Union and a number of officials at the European Union. — ONA
