MAQSHAN: His Highness Sayyid Asaad bin Tareq al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for International Relations and Cooperation Affairs, Personal Representative of His Majesty the Sultan, will preside over on Thursday the concluding ceremony of Maqshan 4th Heritage Festival, which started on December 18.
The competition has concluded with wide participation of the camel owners from different wilayats of the Sultanate.
Maqshan 4th Heritage Festival included a number of cultural, heritage and sports events including camel beauty competition, local known as “Mazayna”, and camel milking competition, locally known as “Mahalba”. It also included a shooting competition in addition to a number of cultural lectures, poetry and art nights.
The festival aimed at maintaining Oman’s true heritage, highlighting the cultural potentials and activating the cultural movement in Maqshan, in addition to providing the opportunity for camel breeders and citizens to market their camels. — ONA
