MUSCAT: An Asian man was arrested by the Samayil Police Station on charges of selling alcoholic drinks and chewing tobacco in Samayil. The police seized more than 1,200 cartons of cigarettes, 90 bottles of liquor and a large quantity of chewing tobacco. The police in Musandam arrested an Asian man in connection with smuggling alcoholic beverages which he concealed in his truck. A man was arrested by Daba police for possessing packs of banned cigarettes.
EXPATS HELD FOR THEFT: The police in North Al Batinah arrested 6 expats for stealing electric wires.
The Directorate for Inquires and Criminal Investigations at North Al Batinah Governorate Police Command launched an investigation into the case of stealing electric wires and managed to identify the culprits.
KHAT SEIZED IN DHOFAR: The Directorate for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at Dhofar Governorate Police Command in association with the Coast Guard Police and the Special Task Police seized more than 3,000 bundles of khat wrapped in tin foil and hidden into a fishing boat in the Wilayat of Mirbat.
HELD IN DRUG CASE: The Directorate for Combating Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances at South Al Batinah Police Command arrested 4 people on charges of possessing drugs for the purpose of trafficking in the Wilayat of Al Musannah. The police recovered bars of hashish from the defendants.
