SalamAir announces services to Alexandria in May

Muscat: SalamAir will launch a new route connecting the capital Muscat to Egypt’s second largest city, Alexandria starting March 2, 2019, three times a week and daily from May 2019.


The new service is the airline’s second destination in Africa after Khartoum, Sudan and the first direct flight offering between Muscat International Airport and Borg El Arab International Airport. Flights will depart from Muscat at 8:35 am and arrive in Alexandria at 11:45 pm, while depart Alexandria at 00:30 arriving in Muscat at 06:55.


Return tickets to Alexandria are now available at special promotional fares.

Alexandria is the second largest city in the country and is an important industrial and economic centre, which is also a vibrant tourist destination. We take pride in being the first to connect Muscat to Alexandria with direct flights and we look forward to expanding our Egypt service to Cairo and hopefully other cities soon. Our aim is to continue providing our guests with exciting travel possibilities on our growing and ever-exciting fleet of A32 0neo aircraft.”


SalamAir network consists of 14 destinations including Muscat, Salalah, Suhar, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, Karachi, Multan, Sialkot, Shiraz, Kathmandu, Khartoum, Dhaka, and Alexandria. SalamAir recently became the first Oman-based carrier to receive the new Airbus A320neo aircraft making it one of the early Middle East recipients and operators of the highly rated model. In addition to the delivered aircraft, another five Airbus A320neo are expected to join SalamAir’s fleet by Q1 2019.


Operating a fleet of A320s in addition to the newly ordered A320neos, the airline’s flight schedule includes flights to Muscat, Salalah, Suhar, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, Karachi, Multan, Sialkot, Shiraz, Dhaka, Kathmandu, Khartoum, and Alexandria. As it continues to grow, it will maintain its strong focus on serving the needs and demands of its guests on under-served and popular short and medium haul routes.
