MUSCAT: The main exhibitions held at the Municipality Recreation Centre as part of Salalah Tourism Festival, 2017 are among the most-visited venues of this year’s festival. These are varied exhibitions which meet the aspirations of many segments of festival-goers. The exhibits showcase heritage and historic products and more.

Among these exhibitions the consumer exhibition, which is held on a daily basis all through the festival, attracts a large number of visitors. In order to handle the sheer number of visitors, the organisers have assigned Saturday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for families while Friday is dedicated to all visitors and Sunday for women.

The Oman, Land of Peace and Friendship exhibition which will be held for the seventh consecutive time this year, is set to showcase a number of photographs of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos. These pictures tell the story of the blessed Renaissance as well as highlight the message of peace among the nations.

The book fair, running until the end of the festival, is another successful and a must-see event in this year’s festival. The book fair is seeing a heavy footfall as it comprises renowned publishers from several Arab countries exhibiting thousands of titles covering all spheres of knowledge and science as well as literature.

The exhibition of the National Records and Archives Authority is yet another important and much sought-after event. With a large number of historical manuscripts and rare stamps, the exhibition seeks to shed light on the Omani history.
