SAF Chief of Staff receives Japanese military official

MUSCAT: Lt Gen Ahmed bin Harith al Nabhani, Chief of Staff of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF), on Thursday received in his office at Mu’askar Al Murtafa’ Admiral Katsutoshi Kawano, Chief of the Joint Staff and the highest-ranking officer of the Japan Self-Defence Forces (JSDF), and his accompanying delegation, currently visiting the Sultanate.


The two sides reviewed the good relations binding the two friendly countries. They also exchanged viewpoints on various military areas and discussed issues of common concern.


The meeting was attended by SAF senior officers.


Japanese official visits NDC


Admiral Katsutoshi Kawano and his accompanying delegation visited the National Defence College (NDC) on Thursday.


They were greeted upon their arrival at the college’s headquarters at Bait Al Falaj Camp by Maj Gen Salim bin Musallam Qatan, NDC Commandant.


The NDC Commandant welcomed the visiting delegation. The two sides exchanged pleasantries and viewpoints on academic and various training aspects. The meeting was attended by Brigadier Ahmed bin Mohammed al Fahdi, NDC Assistant Commandant, and Brigadier Mohammed bin Ya’arub al Sifi, Director General of Studies and Academic Affairs at the NDC.


DELEGATION AT COMMAND AND STAFF COLLEGE

Admiral Katsutoshi Kawano and his delegation also visited the Command and Staff College (CSC) of the Sultan’s Armed Forces (SAF) at Bait Al Falaj Camp. The delegation was greeted by Brigadier Amer bin Said al Mahri, CSC Commandant. Officers at the CSC Guidance Authority escorted the delegation in a tour that included halls and classrooms. — ONA
