Royal Cavalry, Royal Guard Cavalry win season’s dressage titles

MUSCAT: The Royal Cavalry horse riders won the season’s rider title in the dressage open and middle categories. The Royal Guard Cavalry won the season’s rider title for beginners in the final dressage competition for the season 2016-2107 organised and supervised by the Omani Equestrian Federation, (OEF) at Al Rahbah Farm Horse Track in the Wilayat of Barka. The Royal Cavalry won the closing title in the open category and the Police Cavalry Unit won the final title in the middle category. The Royal Guard Cavalry won the final title in the beginners’ category. Thirty horses from various government cavalry units and private stables participated in the competition.


The competition consisted of three categories: the first category is the open category with the participation of 8 horses, the second category is the middle category with the participation of 8 horses and the third category is the beginners’ category with the participation of 14 horses. Dr Sarhan bin Salim al Zaidi, Acting Director-General of the Royal Cavalry, sponsored the final competition in the presence of Sayyid Munthir bin Saif bin Hamad al Busaidi, Chairman of the Oman Equestrian Federation and a number of members of the Board Directors of the Federation, and a large gathering of dressage fans. — ONA
