ROP signs cooperation pacts with ministries

MUSCAT: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has signed cooperation agreement with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. The agreement is aimed at facilitating and expediting customs procedures, streamlining trade activities in the Sultanate, boosting joint trade with the government departments involved with trade and customs clearance of goods.


The agreement encompasses a set of items regarding the provision of services including issuing licences and permits and initial approval of industrial exemption resolutions.


ROP also signed an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries regarding facilitating customs procedures and the provision of services pertaining to the agriculture and livestock sector.


These services include issuing permits and certificates for importing agricultural and livestock goods, inspection of incoming goods and issuing of temporary and final release certificates.


The agreements were signed by Brig Sulaiman bin Mohammed al Harthi, Assistant Inspector General of Police and Customs for Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Dr Ahmed bin Hassan al Dheeb, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
