RO300 minimum salary for family visa in Oman: ROP

The sources at the Royal Oman Police (ROP) have officially confirmed to the Observer that the minimum wage for expatriates to bring their families to Oman has been revised from RO600 to RO300.

Amendments to the existing law was first revealed yesterday by  the Shura Council member Sultan bin Majid al-Abri in a tweet from his personal rwitter account: “The Minimum salary requirement to get visa for family members has been amended from RO600 to RO300,” he said.

It has been reported that the amendment was made on the recommendation of the of the Shura Council as it will encourage expatriate workers to spend quality time with families here and to boost the local economy,  including real estate, retail, insurance and other sectors.

Changes to the law was introduced in 2013 that said an expatriate wishing to bring in his family to the Sultanate should have a minimum salary of RO600 per month.
