SOHAR: The Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) announced that Sohar Power, owner of Water Desalination Plants at Sohar on Sunday started the planned maintenance for the water desalination plant. As per the maintenance plan for the Governorates of North Al Batinah and Al Buraimi, the process will take five days from Sunday morning till Thursday evening. To ensure uninterrupted water supplies to the wilayats served by the plant, PAEW has taken necessary measures. PAEW has activated the emergency committees at the wilayats served by the plant. It also advised residents in these wilayats last week through the various media means, local newspapers, PAEW accounts on social networks and through SMSs to take necessary measures to rationalise water consumption during the maintenance period, said Abdullah bin Mohammed al Nu’aimi, Director General of Operation at PAEW.
