The Sultanate will be affected by a trough of low pressure from December 15 to 18. Isolated rains and occasional thundershowers accompanied by fresh wind and hail are expected over Musandam, Al Batinah (north and south), Al Dahirah, Al Buraimi, Al Dhakiliyah and Al Sharqiyah (north and south). Cloud formation and isolated rains are likely over Dhofar and Al Wusta.
Sea is expected to be moderate to rough along the coastal areas of Musandam and Sea of Oman with a maximum wave height ranging between two and three metres.
Motorists and fishermen have been urged to follow weather updates and people told to be careful while crossing the wadis during this period.
Clear to partly cloudy skies are likely over most of the Sultanate with chances of late night to early morning low level clouds over the Governorate of Al Wusta and along the coastal areas, the Met Department said on Wednesday.
