MUSCAT, FEB. 3 -

People braved the cold wind conditions to visit the Muscat Festival on the penultimate weekend before its closure. The festival this year has been truncated to little over three weeks. Among the attractions is the tropical rainforest at Naseem Garden.

“This one was never seen before in the festival. I wish we had here in Oman a much bigger rainforest than the one at Kuala Lumpur airport in Malaysia,” said Hyder al Balushi. Children too have been excited about the rainforest as it has been the first experience with something of this kind.

Theme parks too attracted crowds but many visitors felt the educational programmes should get more emphasis. A visitor said this is how people will learn faster.

Rainforest was the standout with live ducks, tropical plants and showers.
