Rain is expected during the weekend in Musandam and the coastal areas of Oman Sea due to a trough which is expected to last for a short period, according to the Met Office.

Isolated rains are likely in the other governorates, and the weather pattern might extend up to Saturday.

Temperature is expected to dip by five degrees Celsius during the weekend, said the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Centre, Public Authority for Civil Aviation.

The trough is likely to have an effect over the Arabian Sea. “On Thursday evening, Oman Sea is expected to be rough, with the sea waves likely to rise to a height of three metres,” said the Met Office.

In some areas, winds are expected to reach speeds of 30 knots. On land, would be around 20 knots.

On Friday, the Arabian Sea is expected to be rough. “Caution is to be exercised in Dhofar, Wusta and most of the coastal areas of Oman,” said the Met Office.
