MUSCAT: The Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO) celebrated graduation of new batch of air officers and pilot officers at the military parade square in Ghala and Sultan Qaboos Air Academy on Wednesday.

The ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry.

The event began with a military salute to the chief guest at the square. He inspected the front row of the graduates, following which the graduates staged a march in front of the dais.

The pilot officers group entered the parade square, where they received the pilot wings from the chief guest.

The graduates chanted the RAFO anthem, declared oath of allegiance and thrice chanted ‘Long Live His Majesty Sultan Qaboos, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces’.

A squadron of fighter jets flew over the parade square and the music band played the Royal anthem.

The ceremony included the graduation of pilot officers, transformation college officers and limited service officers.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Al Sunaidy said: “I am honoured to preside over the graduation ceremony of air officers and pilot officers from the Royal Air Force of Oman.

What we have seen today is a proof of the level of discipline at RAFO and other military divisions. We wish the graduates a successful career.”
