DOHA: Qatar is open to holding dialogue to resolve the crisis with its Gulf neighbours, Qatari Foreign Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman al Thani told CNN International. “We are willing to sit and talk,” Al Thani said in an interview with CNN, aired on Tuesday. He said Qatar believed in diplomacy and wanted to promote peace in the Middle East. It was also combatting terrorism, he said. “We are not believing in solving things with confrontation,” he said. Meanwhile, Kuwaiti Emir Shaikh Sabah Al Ahmed al Sabah on Tuesday left for the Saudi city of Jeddah on a “brotherly” visit, Kuwait’s state news agency Kuna reported. Shaikh Sabah’s trip comes hours after Qatar said it was receptive to the Kuwaiti efforts. The Kuwaiti emir had called the Qatari emir and urged him to work for de-escalation, Kuna reported. — Agencies
