Muscat, July 4 -

The National Youth Commission (NYC) is preparing to launch the ‘Youth and Healthy Life’ project on July 17. It will run until July 27.

The project will include programmes and activities targeting different groups of youth in order to improve their health.

It is expected to contribute to increasing awareness on healthy lifestyle methods, besides empowering the youth and providing them with opportunities to succeed.

To begin with, activities will be held for youths (in the age group 15 to 29 years) in Muscat, Al Batinah, Musandam and Dhofar.

A total of 20 people will be selected for training to gain knowledge about smoking, drugs and body health.

These youths will be asked to contribute in spreading awareness on these topics either through competitions, stories, plays or any other medium.

The project will comprise radio and TV programmes, social media and printed content, exhibitions as well as four types of activities.

A total of 400 events will be organised to spread health awareness among more than 100,000 Omani youth, beside empowering and supporting 60 youth groups.
