Producer price index up 19.7pc in Q2

MUSCAT: The Producer Price Index in the Sultanate by the end of the second quarter of this year increased by 19.7 per cent compared to the same period of 2016. Prices of oil and gas products led to an increase of 25.6 per cent, while non-oil products recorded a decline of 0.3 per cent, according to the data published by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI). The rise in oil and gas products price was attributed to the rise in the prices of crude oil and natural gas products by 27.7 per cent, while the prices of refined oil products increased by 13.5 per cent.
