MUSCAT, NOV 15 - Port of Duqm came third in the six-hour endurance race of a karting championship hosted recently by Oman Automobile Association. Just last month, the port’s official Karting Team — with Mohammed, Ammar and Anwar al Balushi as the main team drivers — won the GCC Karting Championship held in Muscat. Anwar al Balushi, Manager of the Port of Duqm Karting Team, expressed delight with his team’s overall performance. “We are happy and proud of what has been achieved so far, barely a year and half since the team was established. Next, we will concentrate on developing the team and focusing on international-level events, including the French championship in 2018.”

“We thank Port of Duqm Company for their support and confidence in our ability to excel in karting events, thereby serving as the company ambassadors in the sporting arena. Sincere thanks also to Oman Automobile Association for their support. We look forward to taking part in similar championships organised in Duqm in the near future,” Anwar added. Brigadier Salim al Maskari, Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Oman Automobile Association handed over the trophies to the winners of the Gulf 12-hour endurance race. Port of Duqm team claimed the top honours. Omantel Makasib claimed second spot and Omantel Blue finished third.
