Poetry evening, fine arts classes during Khareef

Salalah: The Directorate-General of Heritage and Culture in Dhofar will organise a range of cultural and heritage events during the Salalah Tourism Festival 2017, which will be held from June 31 to August 31.


Ahmed bin Salim al Hajri, Director- General of Heritage and Culture in Dhofar said, that one of the most important activities to be organised by the Directorate, in coordination with Dhofar Municipality and some private sector companies, is the heritage and culture exhibition themed “Oman the Civilisation”. He added that the exhibition will contain images, exhibits, and traditional arts and musical instruments.


There will also be performances of traditional art forms from the Sultanate and the GCC countries daily. He added that the Directorate will organise a poetry evening on the occasion of the Blessed Renaissance Day during which a number of poets from the Sultanate will take part expressing loyalty to the leader and the country, as well as national songs.


Al Hajri pointed out that one of the most important youth programmes for Khareef season 2017 are two fine arts workshops, the first for the age group of 10 years up to 13 years and for girls of 17 years of age and above on leather works, acrylic drawing, as well as music.
