MUSCAT, SEPT 16 - The Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) participated in the China-Gulf States Economic Forum 2017, which concluded in the Chinese city of Shenzhen last week.

The PEIE delegation was headed by Hilal bin Hamad al Hasani, Chief Executive Officer of PEIE accompanied by Eng Musallam al Hudaifi — Chief Executive Officer of Shumookh Investment and Services Company, and Jasir al Ulaqi — Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Business Development. The forum was attended by businessmen, investors and officials from the Gulf and Chinese sides.

While delivering a presentation at the forum, Al Hasani stressed the significance of the existing and potential investment opportunities in the Gulf countries in general and the Sultanate in particular in various fields. Commenting on Oman-China economic activities, Al Hasani said, “Chinese companies have a significant presence in various activities in Oman. Of course, Oman Wanfang’s industrial town project at Duqm is the latest interesting news.”

Al Hasani also presented an overview of the nature of investment opportunities in the Sultanate, the advantages and facilities that are accessible by the local and foreign investors, in addition to the Sultanate’s excellent geographical location at the entrance to the Gulf in the middle of the East-West trade routes.

Al Hasani also highlighted the vision of PEIE, which is to enhance the Sultanate’s position as a leading regional centre of manufacturing, ICT, innovation and entrepreneurship excellence, and its mission in attracting industrial investments and providing continued support, through regionally and globally competitive strategies, good infrastructure, value adding services, and easy governmental processes.
