Khartoum: The Sultanate, represented by the Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE), concluded successfully on Monday its participation at the 35th edition of the International Fair of Khartoum in Sudan. This participation was the first for PEIE at the International Fair of Khartoum, which comes in line with its efforts to expand markets for the Omani products.

PEIE participated at the event with a pavilion that featured Omani companies representing various industries to promote the locally manufactured products and explore new markets for these products at the regional and global levels. Visitors to the pavilion had the opportunity to get acquainted with the investment opportunities offered by the Sultanate in general and PEIE in particular. More than 680 companies from 33 countries participated at the exhibition.

These companies represented various industries including agricultural machinery and equipment, information technology, energy and mines, building materials, services, medical supplies, consumer goods and household.

Besides, a lineup of events was held on the sidelines of the exhibition, including a general trade fair, platform for b2b meetings, seminars and discussion session.

PEIE’s participation in this exhibition came as part of Origin Oman Campaign for the year 2018, which aspires at raising awareness on the locally manufactured products and services and their ability to compete locally and abroad simultaneously.

The Origin Oman Campaign is a national initiative designed to encourage consumers and organisations to buy Oman-made goods and services, promote national pride in the manufacturing industry and highlight the economic importance of choosing and buying locally manufactured products and services.
