PASI launches award for social insurance research

Muscat, Oct 18 – The Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI) has launched an award for best researches in the field of social insurance. It will be presented every two years.
This was announced at a press conference held at the PASI headquarters on Wednesday.
The award is expected to motivate researchers to make proposals that contribute to promoting businesses in insurance sectors as well as achieving sustainable development in related fields such as actuarial sciences, pension privileges, insurance services, investments, media and insurance culture, and laws and legislations.
PhD researchers, Masters and Bachelor degree holders, and college and high school students can compete for the awards.
Both Omanis and non-Omanis, whether in government or private sector, can participate.
Applications can be submitted online on along with a copy of the research. Nominated projects should provide visual shows at the award ceremony.
A cash award of RO 5,000 will be presented to winners (PhD holders) and RO 4,000 to Master degree holders. Holders of Bachelor degrees, and college and high school students will receive RO 3,000, RO 2,000 and RO 1,000 respectively.
The last date for submitting applications is June 30, 2018. Results will be announced by October 2018.
