Palestinian minister visits SQU

MUSCAT: Dr Sabri Mamdoh Sidam, Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education, visited Sultan Qaboos University. He was received by Prof Ali bin Huwaishal Al Shuaili, SQU Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administrative & Financial Affairs, in the presence of Dr Rahma bint Ibrahim Al Mahrooqiyah, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Prof Amer Ali Al Rawas, Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Community Service and Dr Abullah bin Mohammed Al Sarmi, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Higher Education.
The Palestinian delegation consisted of Dr Ihab Qabak, Assistant Under-Secretary for Higher Education, Dr Sami Pasha, Head of Accreditation and Quality Authority, Raed Barakat, Director General of University Education, and Ahmed Abbas Ramadan, Palestine’s Ambassador to the Sultanate. The two sides discussed topics related to higher education and research. In addition, they explored cooperation between SQU and Palestinian higher educational institutions by away of collaborative research, and joint lectures and symposia.
Ahmed bin Mohammed al Saidi, Minister of Health, received in his office on Wednesday Dr Sabri Mamdoh Sidam, Minister of Education and Higher Education in the State of Palestine and his accompanying delegation. The meeting exchanged the cordial conversations and discussed matters of common concern between the two brotherly countries in the fields of health, most importantly health education and training in the different medical specialties. The meeting was attended by MoH Under-Secretaries.
