Some members of the Omani Women’s Association in Muscat visited the State Council on Monday to learn about the role of the Council and its powers and mechanisms. They heard a detailed explanation of the tasks and responsibilities assigned to the State Council. The explanation touched on the state’s three powers, Council of Oman and its role, the provisions of the State Council according to the Basic Law, which specifies the number of members of the Council, the mechanism of appointment, the terms of membership, the differences between the State Council and Majlis Ash’shura, regarding the terms of reference and membership, in addition to the stages and durations of the draft law.
