MUSCAT, JAN 2 -
Seeking to broaden business and investment horizons for its members, Oman Society of Petroleum Services (OPAL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Beijing E Neng Network Co Ltd (ENN), a leading Chinese-based business platform that offers one-stop services and solutions to the global energy industry.
The pact paves the way for a wide spectrum of Oman-based Oil & Gas contractors, equipment manufacturers and vendors, as well as assorted service providers, to tap into one of the world’s largest platforms for energy-related products and services. It is the latest in a string of initiatives spearheaded by OPAL with the aim of building stronger commercial ties between Oman’s vibrant Oil & Gas marketplace and the formidable Chinese energy services industry.
Signing the MoU on behalf of OPAL was Musallam al Mandhry, CEO. Beijing ENN was represented by its Managing Director, Benjamin Sun.
The MoU provides the basis for initial collaboration between OPAL and Beijing ENN aimed at drawing up a framework for longer-term cooperation designed to advance the interests of their respective members. As part of the pact, the two sides will host joint meetings between equipment manufacturers represented on the ENN platform, on the one hand, and members of OPAL, on the other. Both sides have also committed to sharing information on their respective members for dissemination on each other’s platforms.
Furthermore, Beijing-headquartered ENN has agreed to make available a database of their Class A suppliers, as well as vouch for the quality of the equipment and products supplied by their members. OPAL, for its part, will share details of Class A Oil & Gas companies registered as members, while also facilitating the inclusion of ENN members on the Society’s approved vendor lists (AVL). Besides, ENN will host OPAL members on visits to the facilities of its members in China.
Commenting on the significance of the MoU, Abdullah al Sinani, HR Executive Manager and Acting Communications Executive Manager of OPAL said: “Through this arrangement, OPAL is building bridges to the immensely promising Chinese energy services industry, which opens up opportunities for mutually beneficial trade and investment ties between the two sides. Some of our members have built world-class reputations as equipment manufacturers and service providers, and see the potential to offer their specialist expertise to the Chinese, and indeed international, markets via the ENN platform. At the same time, Oman’s Oil & Gas industry can benefit from products, technologies and services marketed on this platform. It’s a win-win for both sides!”
Beijing ENN is billed as the world’s first one-stop integrated service platform focusing on the Oil & Gas industry. In addition to its flagship material and equipment trading portal, the network also comes integrated with its enBAO financial, emTMS logistics, and Oil & Gas News services.
