MUSCAT: Oman National Engineering and Investment Company (ONEIC) has launched a state-of-the-art mobile application for paying electricity and water bills. The mobile application ‘Bill & Pay’ was launched at a function organised under the auspices of Minister of Legal Affairs Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Saeedi and Minister of Manpower, Shaikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Abdullah Al Bakri at Grand Hyatt Hotel on Wednesday.

Several top-level officials from various ministries, private sector and ONEIC also attended the launch event.

The new mobile application, which is for making payment for both electricity and water, is available in English and Arabic languages.

The easy-to-use application, which can be used in all types of mobile devices running on Android and Apple’s iOS platforms, will take only 40 seconds for completing an online payment.

ONEIC Bill & Pay application, which was introduced to provide better services to customers, also allows customers to view their account for paying electricity and water bills. The customer needs to know only the account number for making payment. Also, the easy to use application provides notification, which helps the customers to easily manage accounts.

The utility customers can check their bill from Muscat Electricity Distribution Company (MEDC), Mazoon Electricity Company (MZEC), Majan Electricity Company (MJEC), Rural Areas Electricity Company (RAECO), Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW), Dhofar Power Company (DPC) and Salalah Sanitary Drainage Service Company.

Apart from the newly-launched mobile application, ONEIC allows customers to use different methods of payment, which include cash, online payment, bank payment, credit/debit card payment and kiosk.

ONEIC, which celebrated four decades of operation in Oman last week, covers 96 per cent of populated area in the Sultanate.
