ONA book on Sultanate of Oman: Ranks High at Arab and International Indices released

MUSCAT: Oman News Agency (ONA) recently issued a book titled Sultanate of Oman: Ranks High at Arab and International Indices.


The book includes ratings and views of international organisations on the achievements made by the Sultanate in many aspects of development.


The 64-page book includes the vision of many prestigious European, American and Asian institutions, centres, organisations and bodies that are locally, regionally and internationally recognised for the Sultanate’s development achievements in a professional, transparent and declared manner according to scientific rules and indicators applied to different countries over the last few months from late 2016 until September 30, 2017.


These institutions include the World Bank, the World Economic Forum - Davos, Heritage Foundation, Forbes magazine, the BBC and many Asian, European and American research centres that classify countries according to the development achievements of the countries.


The book includes 19 reports related to specific developmental aspects of Oman.


Other reports included indicators and classifications for the ranking of the countries of the region and the world in the subjects dealt with.


The book covers several areas, including the World Peace Index, Transparency International, Corruption Perceptions Index, World’s Best Countries Index, Least Vulnerable Countries Index of Children in the World, Global Innovation Index, Cyber Security Index, Economic Freedom Index, Competitive Talent, Islamic Travel Index, index of the most stable countries in the world, the index of property rights, the e-government index, the index of the development of higher education, and other indicators in the areas of health, tourism, transport and communications, in addition to the indicators and aspects that clearly indicate the significant and concrete shift achieved by the Omani development process in various fields.


The book comes within the framework of the vital media role of Oman News Agency as the official source of news of Oman.


The book provides an opportunity for those interested inside and outside the Sultanate and the Omani citizens to follow up the national development efforts at various levels and to identify the trends and indications contained in these reports in both Arabic and English. — ONA
